Position:                      Employment Placement Specialist                               Job Classification: Exempt

Reports To:                Program Manager

Supervises:                  Partial supervision over Federal Residents.

Position Scope:           Up to 50 Federal Residents participating in a Residential Re-Entry Program.

Position Summary:

The Great Falls Pre-Release Center is a non-profit Community Corrections worksite consisting of three Counseling campuses.  The campuses are minimum security and residential in nature, housing closely screened and selected for program acceptance, adult male and female felon offenders during their structured transition program for re-entry into the community.  The Centers also operate a Jail Alternative program for adult male/female clients and a Community Service program involving adjudicated males and females.

Perform professional social services duties to support Correctional Treatment Specialist staff working with assigned Federal Residents.  Assist Residents in finding work, act as a Job Coach and Liaison Officer between employers, supervisors and residents.

Key Responsibilities and Duties:

1.         Working in conjunction with the Correctional Treatment Specialist and Treatment Staff, responsible for vocational counseling, developing a work plan and job placement of the residents.

2.         Work with the residents to assure updated job readiness through resume writing, development of job and interviewing skills, and being appropriately dressed and groomed.

3.         Assist and train residents to access and navigate through on-line job board postings and develop on-line application skills and techniques.

4.         Schedule regular employer contacts, visit employers and monitor work performances.  Work with employers and residents to evaluate and assess quality of work.  Provide meaningful assistance from the Center to maximize resident's upward mobility opportunities.

5.         In conjunction with Program Manager, develop and maintain current listing of job resources within the community and continuously expand list of employers willing to hire residents.  Make public appearances and assist in educating employers and community at large as to our purpose.

6.         Perform other duties as requested or assigned.

Qualifications and Skills:

·       Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services field.

·       Three years’ progressively responsible experience in the field of corrections, rehabilitation or related jobs development area.

·       Knowledge of supervisory techniques and management skills.

·       Must have ability to organize and manage time effectively and to keep records orderly and up to date.

·       Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees, Board of Directors and community-based agencies.

·       Effective verbal and written communication and must maintain a mature and empathic personality.
Compensation: $23.31 - $24.02 per hour
